Microsoft keeps its service running and holds deleted items for a limited time, but that is not the same as a backup you control. If data is deleted, overwritten or encrypted by ransomware and the retention period passes, it can be gone. We recommend a dedicated Microsoft 365 backup for every business.
Business Standard suits most office staff who need the desktop Office apps.
